Personal Development

At St Paul’s , we recognise the importance of personal development and children having their own identity and aspirations for the future. As well as academic development, it is essential that children are given a range of opportunities, through the curriculum and beyond. We understand the crucial role our Curriculum of Grace curriculum plays in this development.

We know it is so important to develop children's talents and interests. We celebrate these regularly in our Celebration worships.

Pupil Leadership Teams

At St Paul’s , we recognise the importance of personal development and children having their own identity and aspirations for the future. As well as academic development, it is essential that children are given a range of opportunities, through the curriculum and beyond. We understand the crucial role our Curriculum of Grace curriculum plays in this development.

We expect our children to engage and lead within our school. We have a school council and ethos team and children are given the opportunity to join these from Year 2 upwards. We want our pupils to learn first hand about rights and democracy so that they in turn can begin to learn how they can contribute to society.

Positive Footprints

Our Year 6 children follow the Positive Footprints scheme which is designed to raise aspirations and open up the world. Children as young as 6 make career decisions based on  the people around them; we want our children to believe that they can achieve anything with the right attitude.

Field trips

We have linked field trips to our Curriculum of Grace which are intended to celebrate our local area and show our pupils what is on their doorstep and how what we are learning about in school is linked to what they see every day.

Residentials

Our Year 5 children attend a residential at Robinwood which is designed to widen children’s experiences and develop teamworking, resilience and aspirations.
