Awards Assembly 2015

Today we held our annual awards assembly in the school hall, all parents were welcome to attend.

Certificates were given for swimming, football, sports teams, attendance etc.

Celebration Of Learning 2015

Due to restrictions in Church this year, our Reception children held their own Celebration of Learning in the Parish Hall.

Well done to all the children who received a prize.

Strawberry Cream Tea Afternoon 2015

This was held in aid of the Ronald McDonald House charity.

KS2 Sports Day 2015

KS2  held their Sports Day last  Monday but unfortunately due to adverse weather KS1 has had to cancel theirs twice.

Hawkley Bands 2015

The Soul Band and Rock Band from Hawkley High School visited school on Friday.  Well done to everyone.

Walking Day 2015

This year is our 100th anniversary and our last walking day ever along with all the rest of our local churches and organisations.

Science Roadshow 2015

International Week 2015

Each class this week learned about another country and then we had an assembly to show the rest of the school.  

Reception class learned about Turkey, Year 1 India.

Year 2 had a Ukranian visitor, Mrs Hirasimyu,  who brought along her children's authentic Ukranian costumes as well as Ukranian biscuits for us to try.

Year 3 learned about Italy.

Healthy Evening

As part of PSHE, Miss Corless and Mrs Harrison organised a Healthy Evening after school with lots of advice as well as prizes.   Many thanks to everyone involved in this event.

Star Dome Planetarium

All children visited the Star Dome this week.  Year 2 learned about the 'great bear' constellation and even hunted for him in the classroom afterwards!!

Our New Prayer Area

The children have been helping Mr Cooke to plan our new prayer area within our gazebo.

Police Visit

Everyone was excited by a visit from the Police and Prison Service and their dogs.

Anti-Bullying & Keep Britain Tidy Assemblies

Each class took part in our Anti-Bullying Assembly this week.  Year 6 even made their own 'raps'

We also had a visit by the 'Keep Britain Tidy' team

St Paul's Centenary

Bishop Cyril blessed our school staff during his visit for our Church Centenary.  A bring and share buffet was enjoyed after the Church Service.

                       

The Meaning of Christmas

Visitors from Church came to school with various activities to show the true meaning of Christmas

School Advent Service

This  year each class took a part in our Service, as well as our new Staff choir.

This event has been organised in conjunction with St Paul’s Church and is a Christian theatre performance of the nativity.

Prayer Spaces

This week Miss Wilkinson organised 4 prayer spaces in our Rainbow Room where everyone within school were able to visit, reflect and pray.

Harvest Festival

Once again we held our annual Harvest Festival in Church.  Many thanks to all the parents/carers who attended.  This year money raised went to the NSPCC and Childline.  Church will be holding further Harvest fundraising for 'The Brick' in Wigan.
